    My vote would have to be for version 1. Though I do like the ease of rhythm that comes with version 2, I think there is a timid quality found in the short phrases in version 1 that is lost in the fluid phrasing of version 2. The longer notes in version 2 adds a confidences that she doesn’t, in my opinion, possess based on what you’ve told us.
