Lyrics

STORYTELLER
ONCE UPON A TIME
IN A LAND NOT SO FAR FROM OUR OWN
THERE LIVED A GIRL NAMED CLAIRE
WHO GREW UP ALL ALONE.
SHE WAS A PERFECT CHILD.
SHE LAUGHED AND THE KINGDOM SMILED.
CLAIRE WAS FROM A LAND
FULL OF DRAGONS AND WIZARDS AND KINGS
AND MAGIC, TOO, YES
MAGIC MADE MIRACULOUS THINGS.
BUT CLAIRE DREAMT OF SOMETHING MORE.
DREAMS NO DREAMER DREAMT BEFORE.
AND THEN ONE DAY A WIZARD CALLED UPON YOUNG CLAIRE TO SAY,

WIZARD:
“HEY, CLAIRE –
YOU’LL BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
THE TIME HAS COME THAT YOU KNOW.
IT’S TRUE – YES YOU WILL BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
BUT IF YOU WANT TO BE QUEEN,
THERE’S SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO DO
TO SHOW THAT YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO RULE.
SOMEWHERE YOU MUST GO.
SOMETHING YOU MUST FIND.
CLAIRE IT’S TIME TO GO.”

STORYTELLER:

AND CLAIRE SAID,

CLAIRE:
“SO – WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN MIND?”

WIZARD:
“TO BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD,
THERE IS A JOURNEY TO TAKE.
YOU NEED TO LEAD YOURSELF ALONE ON A QUEST.
THERE WILL BE MONSTERS TO FIGHT.
THERE WILL BE MOUNTAINS TO CLIMB.
AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO FIND YOUR PRIZE.
YOU WILL FACE YOUR FEARS.
YOU WILL BRAVE THE COLD.
AS THE LEGEND SAYS
IT MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOU’RE TEN YEARS OLD!
FIND THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS.”

CLAIRE:
Pajamas?

WIZARD:
Pay attention!

STORYTELLER:
AS THE STORY GOES,
THERE’S A PAIR OF PAJAMAS SOMEWHERE
THAT CAN MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE.
IF THE DREAMER IS CLAIRE.
AND IF SHE PUTS THEM ON
HER FEARS SOON WILL ALL BE GONE.
CLAIRE WENT ON HER WAY.
AFTER WAVING THE KINGDOM GOODBYE.
THE WIZARD SAID,

WIZARD:
“HAVE FAITH
AND YOU’RE ABLE TO FLY.”

STORYTELLER:
THEN CLAIRE WAS ON HER OWN.
BEYOND ANY PLACE SHE’D KNOWN.
SHE TOOK A BREATH THEN SAID,

CLAIRE:
“TODAY I START TO FIND MY WAY…
…TO BEING QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
I’LL BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
YES I WILL TRY TO BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
OH NO, I WON’T EVEN TRY.
IT’S SOMETHING I HAVE TO BE.
IT’S UP TO ME TO BE THE GREATEST QUEEN!
AND IF IT’S UP TO ME,
THEN IT’S WHAT YOU’LL GET.
I WILL COUNT TO THREE.
SO ONE – TWO – THREE AND READY, SET… GO!”

STORYTELLER:
HERE COMES THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.

CLAIRE:
“THE ALMOST QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
IT’S ME – YES EVEN IF I START FEELING SCARED,
THERE IS A GOAL THAT’S IN SIGHT,
AND IF I JUST LOOK AHEAD,
THE WIZARD SAID I’LL TAKE WING AND FLY.
BUT WHICH WAY TO TURN?
WHAT’S THE PERFECT ROUTE?”

STORYTELLER:
TAKE YOUR TIME TO THINK
BUT QUICK BEFORE YOUR TIME RUNS OUT…

CLAIRE:
“WHERE’S THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS?”

STORYTELLER:
OVER MOUNTAINS WITH GIANTS
AND VALLEYS OF DRAGONS CLAIRE EXPLORED.
THROUGH OCEANS OF FIRE
AND CAVERNS OF TERRIBLE CREATURES
SHE TRAVELED TOWARD THE GRAIL OF ALL GRAILS,
NO MATTER THE CHALLENGES SHE WENT THROUGH.
THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS WOULD MAKE HER QUEEN
AND MAKE HER DREAMS COME TRUE.

(CLAIRE is clearly exhausted and near to being discouraged)

CLAIRE:
“TO BE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD,
YOU NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO GO
BUT I DON’T KNOW AND SO I GUESS I’M NO QUEEN.
I’VE SEARCHED ALL OVER THE EARTH.
I’VE HAD MY FILLING OF SCARES.
I’VE LOOKED AND THERE’S NO PAJAMAS HERE!
I COULD PUSH AHEAD.
I COULD BARREL THROUGH.
BUT WITHOUT A GUIDE,
HOW COULD I KNOW WHICH THING TO DO?”

STORYTELLER:
CLAIRE WAS AT THE EDGE,
TOO EXHAUSTED TO MAKE ANY CHOICE,
WHEN FROM NOT FAR AWAY
SHE HEARD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.
SHE TRIED TO PLACE THE SOUND.
SHE STOOD AND LOOKED AROUND.
A BOY ABOUT HER AGE WAS RUNNING RIGHT HER WAY AND SAYING,

GERARD:
“HERE COMES THE KING OF THE WORLD
TO FIND THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
TO SAVE THE BRAVEST LITTLE QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
I MET A WIZARD WHO SAID
I HAD A MISSION TO DO.
I’VE LOOKED FOR YOU AND I FOUND YOU, TOO!
DON’T GIVE UP JUST YET.
WE ARE ALMOST THERE.
WHY NOT SHOW THE WORLD THE MAGIC OF GERARD AND CLAIRE?”

STORYTELLER:
A LITTLE TWIST IN THE PLOT:
THE KING AND QUEEN OF THE WORLD.
WHO KNEW THAT TWO WOULD BE IN CHARGE OF THE WORLD?
THEY GOT TO MOVING AHEAD –
WHICH WASN’T TRICKY TO DO
WHEN THERE WERE TWO WHERE THERE ONCE WAS ONE.
THEN THE BOY STOOD STILL.
AND HE STARED IN AWE.
CLAIRE ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG,
HE TURNED TO SHOW HER WHAT HE SAW…

GERARD & CLAIRE:
THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS!

STORYTELLER:
JUST AHEAD OF OUR HEROES,
A GLISTENING TOWER CAUGHT THEIR EYES.
THEY ASCENDED A STAIRWAY THAT STOPPED AT THE TOP WHERE THEY
WITNESSED, TO THEIR SURPRISE,
THE GRAIL OF ALL GRAILS –
THE ITEM TO MAKE ALL THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE
WAS NOT JUST ONE PAJAMA –
THE HEROES FOUND A PAIR OF TWO.

GERARD:
ONE FOR YOU,

CLAIRE:
AND ONE FOR YOU!

STORYTELLER:
SO THEY PUT THEM ON
AND THEY NATURALLY FIT LIKE A GLOVE.
RIGHT AS THE BRIGHTEST LIGHT
FILLED THE SKY UP ABOVE.
THE DREAMS OF QUEEN AND KING
WERE FILLING EVERYTHING.
THEY SAW THEIR LIFE AND DREAMS AND NOW IT SEEMS THEY’RE TAKING WING!

LOOK TO THE SKY AND YOU’LL SEE
THE KING AND QUEEN OF THE WORLD!
THEY’RE FLYING HIGH UPON THE DREAMS OF THE WORLD.
WITH THEIR PAJAMAS IN PLACE
AND WITH A FRIEND AT THEIR SIDE,
THEY SOAR AND GLIDE ALL THE WAY BACK HOME.
THROUGH THE KINGDOM’S GATES,
PASSED THE CASTLE WALL,
THERE THE WIZARD WAITS
WITH EVERY DREAMER, LARGE AND SMALL!

WIZARD:
“FROM THE STARS’ FIRST GLOW
TO THE RISING SUN,
OUR HEROES BRING PAJAMAS MADE FOR EVERYONE!”

GERARD:
AND SO THE KING OF THE WORLD

CLAIRE:
BESIDE THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD

BOTH:
WORKED HARD TO GUARD THE EVERY DREAM OF THE WORLD.
NOW EVERY CHILD TO BE
AND EVERY CHILD THAT WAS
IS SAFE BECAUSE OF THEIR MAGIC SUIT!

STORYTELLER:
HERE OUR STORY STOPS
THOUGH IT ISN’T THROUGH.

ALL:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT
IS REALLY ONLY UP TO YOU…
…FIND THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS.
THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS.
WITH THE MAGICAL PAJAMAS,
YOU CAN BE THE KING AND QUEEN OF THE WORLD!
